What's involved with injectables?
With age, we get descent and deflation of the skin and soft tissues of the face. There are various injectable products that can provide excellent results to restore and rejuvenate the face with no downtime and no surgery required.

There are 3 main classes of injectable materials that we commonly use to provide a youthful appearance to the face:
- Neuromodulators – these temporarily relax the muscles that cause wrinkles so that over a short period of time, the skin becomes smoother with fewer creases, lines, and wrinkles. The commonly used products are BOTOX®, Xeomin®, and Dysport®. They are often used in the forehead for wrinkles, around the eyes for crows feet, and in the central part between the eyebrows to help with the vertical ’11s.’ We can also use these products to give a subtle brow lift.
- Fillers – these are used to fill in areas of the face that have lost volume over time as a result of aging. The fillers we use are made of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance that exists in your skin, and are injected to create a more youthful appearance by restoring volume to the face, and can also be used to fill in deep wrinkles and creases. Frequently, we will use filler to rejuvenate the lips with a subtle and natural appearance. We use a variety of products which have different characteristics to give you the look you want including Juvederm® and Belotero® products. These products typically last for 12-18 months, and can be easily reversed with hyaluronidase.
- Fat reducers – a new injectable known as deoxycholic acid (Belkyra®) can be used to treat the double chin by safely melting away the fat cells in the chin and neck region. We often do a series of injections over a short period of time to get the right look. There is no downtime with this injection, and it provides good long term results.

These are minimally invasive in-office procedures with little to no downtime. We will sit down with you to come up with a plan to address the various areas in the face that need correction. This can include adding volume to the lips, cheekbone areas, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and jaw-line regions, among others. Most patients can easily return to their regular activities the next day, and may experience some mild bruising.
